Born in 1978 in Buenos Aires, Argentina, he moved to Madrid, Spain, in 2004. With a background in informatics and biology, Federico Ricca studied Fine Arts Photography at the Arte 10 Arts School in Madrid, Spain, from 2008 to 2011.
The artist has been awarded with the Premio ORA in 2012. He is currently based in Oviedo, Spain.
Working mainly at the intersection of sculpture and photography, he creates ephemeral installations that serve as models for his photography, but are later discarded. The fact of producing a photograph of an object or place that is built and destroyed, together with the material used (paper, mainly) is what drives his exploration on how ideology moulds society.
